"Home is ultimately not about a place to live but about the people with whom you are most fully alive. Home is about love, relationship, community, and belonging, and we are all searching for home."
I don't know who this quote is from, but it speaks to me on a profound level. I moved from my hometown in 2005 to follow my now ex-husband for his career. First we were in Connecticut, which most definitely wasn't home for either of us. We then moved to Sandusky, Ohio to be nearer to family and friends. While it wasn't exactly home, it was a great place to live. But then we moved again, this time to Grand Haven, Michigan. Nothing against Grand Haven or the people who live there and love it, but it was not the place for me. I recently moved back to my hometown and I quickly realized what I already knew. This place is my home because of the people here. It has been incredible reconnecting with so many amazing people. My family and old friends have rallied around me and welcomed me with open arms and loving hearts. I can't remember the last time I was this happy and fulfilled. Perhaps this town isn't the most wonderful or exciting in the eyes of others, but everything I need and want is here. This is where I belong.
In light of this quote and my second chance at life, here are my Second Chance Romance recs!
